VinoCell - wine cellar manager App Reviews

I don’t know what the other reviewers are talking about, but this app accomplishes so little and makes it so difficult that I wish I hadn’t wasted my ten bucks. It suffers from a terrible user interface and misses on the basics, for instance, it can’t scan barcodes to search for a wine so you have to type everything! The database appears to be quite international, but the majority of my cellar’s contents are California wines and half of what I searched for wasn’t found. My suggestion is just make a spreadsheet with the info you care about and save yourself some money and frustration trying to make this app useful.

This is the best wine cellar app in the App Store. While a bit expensive, it does everything you need it to do. Favorite features include the statistics and the ability to create custom cellar racks and place bottles. Also, the Developer is very responsive when questions are asked.

YOU HAVE TO DO ALL THE WORK.... But Definitively this is the BEST WINE APP...to keep a log pf what you drink, to guide your tastings, to keep your cellar, to view and review your wine finances and your predilection. I am EXTREMELY HAPPY WITH THIS APP.

Good for keeping track of my small inventory. Needs to be a little more user friendly. Navigating is not intuitive. Has been auto exiting.

I hope my French was correct, but simply said, this app is the best Ive seen and it improves with every upgrade. I wont use anything else.

Nice app for keeping track of your wine if you have a cellar or fridge. Easy To use. Syncs well with phone and iPad.

Time consuming to set up--Program is well organized "spread sheet" and map for keeping track of your cellar, but painful to set up since most wines and wine details have to be added manually. It would be so much better if they had import from Cellartracker or Vivino or bar scanner for quick addition

Love this app! It helps to organize all of your wines. You can enter as much info on each wine as you like - the more data you enter, the more search options you will have. I highly recommend that you enter the grape percentages of each wine, the region, sub region and year as well as the winery. The app developers are great too. I could not find a particular grape that was in one of my wines. I sent them an email and had a response within hours and the grape was entered into the database.

I use this app to manage a small cellar (500+) bottles. Have never had any problems with it , and I use it frequently. Recommended.

Ive used several wine cellar apps, even going as far as making my own. This one is the best by far. Very easy to use and holds all the information that I want it to.

I switched to Vinocell from an app I used for 15 years and have not looked back. Super functionality for day to day usage. Nice graphically. Rich functionality. Flexible search. Graphs could be a little more rich but Im sure they will get there. Im amazed this was on the market and I didnt know it was out there. Nice job and well thought out.

Computer crash totaled previous cellar manager. VinoCell is better in every way. Even re-entering data from scratch on hundreds of bottles was not as daunting a task as one would expect. It even caused the discovery of several long forgotten bottles. Various reports and displays answer every query I have posed so far. Very much looking forward to the MacBook version due out sometime this year.

I must say I was looking forward organizing and adding my wines from the cellar to the app. However I cant believe that each bottle of wine must be entered and typed manually. Other free apps offer scan option, couldnt believe that this app and most expensive doesnt have that option. Need less to say Im about typing/ entering one by one my inventory.

Absolutely love this app. It even could find info on my Giuseppe Linardi Amarone! Multiple conditional searches simplify finding bottles in a large cellar. Only wish there was a better manual. I found so much it can do, but wonder what else is hiding just below the surface.

This is the best app I could find for tracking wine. It has all the input categories one could ever use and more. I drink wine everyday and like to try a lot of different bottles. I used to find myself buying a bottle and forgetting Ive already tried it and forgot where it ranked on my personal rating scale. Never an issue now or knowing what I once paid for it.

Been using this app for 2 years. It is excellent . They are very good in updating to new iOS on time. Application is very easy once you get use to it. There are still some improvement to make. Forgot to say that their customer service is very good.

This app is great for keeping track of my wine collection! Very easy to create and manage your cellar. However, I wish it had a barcode scanner when adding a new bottle of wine that would allow a database look up instead of having to type the name in.

The best cellar tracker by far. Good looking layout, easy to use and you can get into as much detail as you like with your wines and tastings. Gives you cellar placement graphics as an option. Very well thought out.

This is a decent app with a big learning curve. There are serious sync issues which must be addressed. I have meticulously placed my bottles in the "virtual" cellar only to find them misplaced/missing when I relaunch the app. This is a real pain, you re-place the bottles, some are ok some are still missing. They are not deleted in the database, theyre just misplaced in the cellar. Also worrisome is the dated UI. It would be great to be able to drag and drop bottles in the cellar. The filter mechanism needs improvement. Vinocell is promising, but very overpriced. With a little improvement it has the potential to become the the best of its kind.

This app has allowed me to track the 150 or so bottles that I have at home. Entering bottles is sufficiently straightforward that I can actually keep the app updated. The ability to sync between phone and tablet adds great utility.
